Depression & Stress - A
Negative Impact On
Health
It always seems that
happier people tend to
be thinner and in shape
than those who are more
depressed and
lazy. This is probably
due to a more positive
outlook for the
healthier people, which
makes them more able to
exercise, along with
helping them to stay
strong against major
indulgences, especially
binges and other
fast food consumptions
that always seem to be
of great comfort to
those having a down day.
Depression is one
mental “illness” that
plagues many people, and
then tends to affect
their physical health as
well. Depression
always seems to make its
victims move quite a bit
slower, along with
making them more
susceptible to illness,
as well as dieting
disasters, which can be
very chaotic for those
suffering from
chronic depression.
Depression also leads to
many problems for those
who do not tend to heal
easily, especially after
having major operations,
or also having major
health problems, like
cancer or heart disease.
Loneliness can also
plague those who have
health problems, not
only due to the
inability of an
individual to sometimes
notice changes in their
own health, but also in
the individual’s ability
to connect with others,
which is a very big
factor in establishing
healthy mental states.
People who are alone
sometimes tend to
shoulder all of their
problems, which can lead
to a great increase in
stress, which can then
lead to a very big
increase in physical
ailments, all of which
can combine to prove
fatal a very unfortunate
number of sufferers.
Stress is
probably one of the
biggest causes of many
of the problems that
plague people throughout
the world. There would
be many less cases of
heart disease, along
with many other
ailments, if stress
was not such a huge
problem. The world is
filled with many people
always fretting about
their jobs, money,
children, and marriages.
All of these worries can
compound one another
causing a myriad of
problems, all of which
can be very detrimental
to one’s health.
Moderation is a very
useful tool in a world
of many extremes. Many
people drink too much,
some eat too much. It is
very important to
realize that there is
always a happy medium
between black and white,
and most of the grey
area is for those who
are happy having a life
where there are no big
ups and downs. A life
like this may seem
boring to some of us,
but it’s probably
healthier than the lives
we’re living.
