Middle-aged men are
very much at risk for
problems like stroke and
heart attack. The onset
of such problems is
usually due to stress,
which seems to plague
most peoples’ lives, but
tends to do so, on a
heavier basis on men who
age between 35 and 60.
These men tend to have a
lot on their minds, not
that women of this age
don’t, but it is often
the men who shoulder the
sole financial
responsibilities in this
category.
Traffic is usually one
place that causes a
high degree of stress
in both men and women.
There are a lot of cars
on the road, so it is no
surprise to note that
many heart attacks are
claimed to occur in
morning and evening
commutes, while many
stressful
altercations also seem
to occur as well. A good
usage of common sense
can help many of these
people avoid tricky
situations, while many
of the situations cannot
be avoided, so it is
best to take it easy and
call ahead to wherever
you may be headed.
Work is another big
stress inducer, and
is sometimes considered
to be the number one
cause of stress,
especially for those who
dislike their boss, or
those who may be the
boss, and have the
weight of their
employees on their
shoulders. Stress can
be controlled at the
workplace, but it is
important to do so away
from the workplace,
especially during lunch,
or other time outs that
may be available to the
worker. Some offices may
have programs that
incorporate a fun
activity, such
activities are
encouraged for those
trying to avoid
unneeded stress in
their lives.
A positive outlook is
essential to those who
want to keep stress
at a very low level in
their lives. Stress
can creep up at the most
unforgiving moment, so
it is always important
to keep all problems at
arm’s length, and while
that may not be an easy
thing to do, it is
necessary, especially
for mental health.
Keeping an eye out for
future problems may not
be the best way to keep
tabs on stress levels,
but an adequate method
of looking ahead may
create fewer obstacles
that could lead to
future stress.
Eating is a great way to
relieve stress,
but it is important not
to eat solely because of
stress. Eating
must be controlled in a
manner so that the type
of food is selected due
to personal preference,
but the quantity is not.
Eat desserts when
desired, but do not eat
a whole cheesecake. Use
moderation when
stress is at hand,
and do not forget about
everything else,
especially your own
personal stress.
There is no perfect
guideline to becoming
stress-free, which
is for the most part
impossible, but it is
necessary to lower
stress levels,
especially if health is
a very important part of
your life.
